In this issue:
Happy Thanksgiving from All of us at Other World Computing!
Yet another year has all but flown by. Here it is already Thanksgiving Day. Christmas and then a brand new year will be here in hardly a few blinks. It sure seems like it all flies by, but that's all in how it's perceived. In a few hours, most of us will be carving the turkey and enjoying a Thanksgiving feast with family and close friends. It's times like this that are really what it's all about. Usually it's after they pass that fond memories are reflected on and later more appreciated. We have so much to be thankful for and that's not just today, but everyday. Not everyone will be off duty today. We can call a day anything we want, but that doesn't put the world and events on pause. A sincere thank you to everyone in our public services - police officers, fire fighters, doctors, med techs, ambulance drivers, all of you with jobs and responsibilities that 'don't observe' national holidays, weekends, etc. A major thank you to those of you in the service and our Veterans who have preserved and protected so much that we sometimes forget we have to be thankful for. There's so much information and stuff today and such contributes to a feeling of things going so quick. Just always need to recognize and appreciate family and the important things in life. In the most challenging days, still so much to be truly thankful for. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Doing it yourself is easier than ever!
Over twenty years ago I started doing this thing and a driving force was the high cost of various upgrades as well a the cost for having such installed. With my own personal computing needs in consideration, I sought to change some of that. Back then, many upgrades for Apple computers were pretty proprietary. It even took special tools to open various Macs. But behind the secret door, most of these upgrades really were not rock science.... The cost of such would certainly have suggested otherwise, however. Today(and for some time now) few upgrade options are proprietary and most all of them are very user installable. It's easy for me to say that they are easy, I've been doing this for a long time. Instead of just saying, we're also here to show you. You can view our every growing library of online video installation guides to see for yourself if an upgrade is something you're prepared to do. The big box service centers typically charge upwards of $80 or more even for the most basic memory installation... Can see quotes approaching $200 when a hard drive upgrade is involved. These and a lot of upgrades you'll likely find that you can comfortably do, well, in the comfort of your own home. In addition to our online 'DIY' library, don't forget we're also 'here' to help to. When help is needed we've got our team is available by toll-free, e-mail, and now even 24/7 livechat (with the exception of national holidays). There's often a lot of untapped potential in most Macs, the release of which just an upgrade away. We appreciate the opportunity to be a part in making those upgrades happen. Thanks! :) Knowledge is power and we're happy to share!

Some Fun Facts about the Thanksgiving Holiday. Some interesting Stats for Thanksgiving. Illinois and Chicago are known for plenty of things... but who'd have thought we also hold the record for Pumpkin production. :) Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s amazing how fast the time passes and it’s well past the time that I need to get back to my own family. The time passes so quickly and I can hardly believe this is my son’s fourth thanksgiving with us and now joining are two daughters age three and one. Come this March, we’ll be having our fourth (and I expect final) child too. I still remember the birth of all my children like it was yesterday.... Hard to believe how long ago even that most recent yesterday already is. Such time passes so fast.
Anyhows.... :) From our family to yours – have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. Our best to your and yours and sincere gratitude! Sincerely, — OWC Larry Contact Information
